Parkers have over 25 years of experience designing, building, sailing and servicing. Trailer Sailers with lifting keel systems. The 235 sets new standards of Trailer Sailer excellence both on shore and afloat.
235 Design Features
All round sparkling sailing performance is achieved by having a long waterline beamy hull form stability, this combined with a deep lower centre gravity keel gives great lateral resistance and stability for offshore sea keeping. Yet with its unique easy lift keel system that can be raised from the cockpit winch the yacht can be moored with its keel raised in shallow waters and still have remarkable stability. The 235 can dry out on mud, sand or gravel and sit completely upright for all round comfort aboard.
Handling Ashore
With its 12′ draft and flattish bottom it is easier to launch and recover from the custom built, galvanised 4-wheeled trailer, with overall trailer/yacht height and average kerbside weight(boat, trailer and motor) 1850kgs. Towing windage is greatly reduced to provide safe handling by an average family car.
Mast Raising and Lowering
The mast can be raised effortlessly from the cockpit by using the coach-roof winch connected to a purchase tackle system, mast forward strut and mast base tabernacle. Stowage of mast whilst towing is arranged on a transom roller prop and pulpit.

Auxiliary Power
The outboard motor is mounted in the cockpit well which has an aperture through the hull a 5hp to 6hp 4-stroke short shaft outboard engine is ideal for this easily driven hull. The engine is mounted on a sliding bracket so it can be easily raised to clear the hull bottom and fits neatly under the tiller, thus reducing drag whilst sailing and corrosion when stored afloat. The engine has a separate locker with a lid to the portside for storage of 12 litre fuel tank.
Sailing performance & Handling
Once underway you will quickly appreciate the difference in stability with a P235 compared to other trailer sailers of similar size and two adults can safely stand on the mid ship gunwale with very little heel, even when the keel is fully up. The P235 is as light as a feather on the helm, tacks fast and accelerates rapidly to the lightest puff of air. The underwater shape with its very fine entry for knifing upwind and broad flat floor with modest rocker gives stability and superb offwind performance. The rig delivers plenty of power to this pedigree hull and all sail and keel controls are led to the cockpit for safe short handed sailing.
Safety
Built in buoyancy chambers throughout including a larger bow chamber, part foam filled for collision safety, stern chamber, and hull side central chambers (port and starboard) provides 1760kgs integratral bouyancy safety feature.
