The first Chinese-flagged team to take part in a full season, CHINA One will compete with match racing champion and rising star Taylor Canfield at the helm. Canfield will be joined by a full crew of experienced sailors, including Shane Diviney, the only Irish sailor competing in this year’s Series. The CHINA One team is a new franchise created by the sailors behind the successful US One team and aims to achieve international success while looking to develop sailing in China through education and world-class events.

2013 World Match Racing Champion and rising star Taylor Canfield helms the first Chinese flagged team to compete in a full season. Canfield was also M32 Series Champion in 2015 and Etchell World Champion.

Payne previously sailed in the 2015 Extreme Sailing Series on board wildcard team, 33 South Racing, who competed in Act 8, Sydney. Payne, an experienced match racer, has competed in the M32 series and won a silver medal at the highly competitive 505 World championship.

Goodrick joins CHINA One for his first time competing in the Series. The 2013 World Match Racing Champion, M32 Series Champion and Youth World Match Racing Champion brings with him a wealth of experience. Goodrick is one of New Zealand’s youngest America’s Cup sailors and is bowman and a founding partner of US One Sailing Team.

Dublin born sailor, Shane Diviney, joins CHINA One for his Extreme Sailing Series debut. Experienced match racer Diviney got first in class in the 2015 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race and also races as a regular and integral part of New Zealand’s 36 Below Team.

Auckland born sailor Chris Steele makes his debut in the Series on board CHINA One. Previously ranked 8th in the world in match racing as well as being Optimist and Splash world champion, Steele was awarded New Zealand’s Young Sailor of the Year in 2007 and was New Zealand’s National Match Racing Champion in 2015.
