Match racing experts and co-skippers Jes Gram-Hansen and Rasmus Køstner front the only Danish flagged team in the circuit, SAP Extreme Sailing Team. Backed by world-leading software and software-services provider SAP who is also the Series’ official Technical Partner, the team enters its fifth season in 2016. Securing a place on the podium in 2015, the team chases its ultimate goal of Series victory this year.

CO-SKIPPER/TACTICIAN

After his best season to date with SAP Extreme Sailing Team in 2015, Køstner will look to do one better in 2016 as the team will focus on the podium’s top spot. A World Match Racing Tour Champion, America’s Cup (32nd on Mascalzone) and Volvo Ocean Race sailor (Ericsson in-port race tactician), this will be the Kostner’s fifth season on the Extreme Sailing Series global circuit.

MAINSAIL TRIMMER

One of the youngest sailors in the fleet, Mads is no stranger to high performance sailing, having raced with SAP Extreme Sailing Team on the 2015 tour. Mads also won a silver medal at the youth 49er World Championships.

HEADSAIL TRIMMER

Pierluigi started sailing at the age of seven, racing optimists before moving on to 420s and 470s. He boasts multiple World Championship titles and has competed at three America’s Cups, two with Italian syndicate Luna Rossa. He’s also competed on the World Match Racing Tour. Pierluigi raced with Team GAC Pindar on the Extreme Sailing Series in 2011 at the Trapani Act in Italy.

Renato is a well-known character in the Extreme Sailing Series having been an integral part of the SAP Extreme Sailing Team shore team in the past. After stepping away for a season to focus on the 2014/15 Volvo Ocean Race with Team MAPFRE, Renato will step on board the Danish team for the 2016 season.
