2015-2016克利伯环球帆船赛第四站之奥尔巴尼站

With a wild coastline, white sand beaches, turquoise waters and a colourful whaling, convict and settler history, Albany sits on the southern tip of West Australia.

Set against a fearsome backdrop of craggy granite coastline and emerald seas, Albany is a 4.5 hour drive or a 1 hour flight from Perth.

Learn about the traditional home of the Minang Noongar Aboriginal people, the historic buildings, convict relics, museums and Albany’s whaling and agricultural industries.

Albany is known for its uninhabited bays and big Southern Ocean swells and Whale World, a working whaling station until 1978 and now a popular visitor attraction. Tours to see migrating humpbacks and blue whales run from May till October.

Albany is the southern terminus for two epic trails - the Munda Biddi cycle trail and the Bibbulmun Track walking trail. There are also two major wrecks for divers to explore and fishing, kitesurfing, surfing, paragliding and camping are also popular amongst the locals.

Albany also has a significant World War One past.

Thousands of Australian and New Zealand troops departed Albany for Egypt and then Gallipoli in Turkey in 1914. The first Anzac Dawn Service was also held in Albany to commemorate fallen troops.

Visit the newly-opened National Anzac Centre to explore the birthplace of the Anzac. The stories are told by the ANZACS themselves with visitors assuming the identity of one of 32 characters.
